Dear Sir/Madam,

Good day. I have a client that is reporting apparently random incidents in which their Windows Default Printer. To help them troubleshoot, I'd like to tell them where they can look in Event Viewer, the registry, or anywhere else on the computer to find a log that indicates when the default printer was changed, and ideally by who or what process. Does such a log exist? I don't mean a printer log that shows what jobs were printed. I'm looking for a log that shows when the default printer was changed.

Thanks very much

    Accepted Solution

The change of default printer is not a logged event (In general, successful events in Windows are not logged as logs would be overflown).
