Exchange Server 2007

We have a databse program on our network that allows you to e-mail members of the database.  When configuring the software to contact the e-mail server it prompts you to enter:
Server Name - Port - & type of Encrytion
I put the IP address of the server Port 25 Secure Encrption
When trying to send an e-mail I get the Error # 25062
100061 Connection Refused

You need to configure a relay agent and add that application server to the list of Authorized machines that can send emails through exchange . Otherwise exchange refuses the connection to prevent spam.
