Symantec Backup Exec 2012 :"Final error: 0xe0008516 - Resources specified for snapshot do not have any valid data on them. Check if files were deleted or renamed."

Hi all,
I try to backup a W2003 SBS server from a W2008R2, where Symantec Backup Exec 2012 is installed.
I love this software, really.
A full bakup runs fine, a incemental backup with the same settings - started 10 hours later - fails with:
"Final error: 0xe0008516 - Resources specified for snapshot do not have any valid data on
them. Check if files were deleted or renamed."

No data is deleted or renamed, also Exchange Writer is enabled (like described here: http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH37421; otherwise full backup would also fail)

"vssadmin list writers" command on W2003 SBS show no errors. Also I have checked all links under http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH72903.

Does anyone have an idea, why a full backup works and an incremental one not?

Incremental - Is pointing to backup what ?
Agree that if Online works same is for incremental...... please check the 2 Job settings and configuration.

Incremental has to take a backup the the Exchange DB and not drives :(

Hi Rancy,

it is one (!) job, so the settings are exact the same. The only difference between full and incemental is "incemental" and "attach to tape" instead of "overwrite".
I am backing up System State, Exchange 2003 Store (in both cases BE needs to do/ will do a full backup instead) and some files and folders.

Thanks for the links, I allready knew them.
I have played around a little with the settings and suddenly it seems to work. I will keep an eye on it the next days.

I really would like to share - but I don't know exactly..
I switched some items on an off (mostly arround AOFO and Exchange) - at all I would say I have the same setting as before, but now it works.

I really would like to share - but I don't know exactly.. :) No issues.
Maybe a re-push ... not sure i have seen on many posts about issues with AOFO :(

It was solved by magic- just uncheck and check some boxes again in AOFO settings, and it worked.
