Separating 2 domains on exchange 2010

Hello,

We have an sbs2011 with 2 accepted domains running. The company's that are using them are now split up and the primary domain is not used anymore. We say that the primary domain is domain 1 and the other domain 2. Now I already removed domain 1 from the accepted domain in EMC but when i send email from my sbs to domain 1 it still is received these emails on my sbs and not on the server where domain 1 is running now. My sbs still thinks he needs to handel this domain.

I tried to run the connect to the internet wizard with domain 2 but i get the error the wizard cannot configure exchange email for your domain sbs 2011 when using other domain ?

Any help would be welcome

thank you

After you removed that domain is it in the Email address policy ... can you restart the server if possible.

Two points come quick to my mind.

You're Exchange hasn't understood that it is no longer responsible for this domain - you can either remove that domain (which you have done), so go ahead and restart AD Topology Service.

Next, create a Send Connector with address space of domain 1 and point it to MX Record of its new Server.

Now, try you're luck.

@Rancy I removed the domain1 and  adjusted the email adress policy right afterwards with domain 2 yesterday buth that didn't work

@exchange_geek i tried the thing you said but i didn't work, when you say i have to put in the adress space of domain1 i put in the real name of the domain1 (ex contoso.be). Is this what you wanted to say.

So are you saying that still UserA has both email address policy ? If so did you Apply the policy (kind of reinforce) ?

No they have just one email policy left, the one of domain 2

So you dont have it in Accepted Domain ... nor an email applied to any user in the Domain2 environment.
When you send an email which server sends the Undeliverable with what error?

this has been solved, a number of recipients didn't apply the email policy.
Checkbox was unchecked to update according to email address policy.
Manually adjusting these accounts did the trick.

Rancy pointe'd in the right direction (email address policy).
Not complete, userrs can be manually adjust to not follow the email address policy's.
