.html and .htm for xcode

What is the difference when using .html and .htm for xcode (phonegap)? I've files that will not create an app via xcode. I noticed it is .htm?

    .htm is the old M$ version of .html

    They should get parsed an processed exactly the same way unless the server does not know what parser to use.  

    Either that or the MIME type is incorrect.

    Or it might be that the os you are using no longer recognizes the older extension.  Try changing the extension of the files to .html

    Intelligent response, even I've already soloved the problem by changing to all .html before I got a response on expert. It is explained clearly as above.
