What version of Outlook for mac 2011 do you have?

Workarounds:

1) Restart Outlook
2) Click/unclick "show in groups" will refresh with the new messages appearing without having to restart.
3) Refresh cache for Exchange accounts
4) Revert to a previous copy of Microsoft Office for mac. If you don't have a copy you'll need to re-install.
