Importing notes into CRM dynamics 4.0

Hi all,

I am in the process of importing notes into a bunch of leads/ accounts into CRM, however when creating the data map I cannot locate the 'Notes' field in order to map the notes we want to import into the notes field within CRM.

Any ideas, suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks
Adrian

Hi Adma1,

Create a separate csv file for Notes that contain four fields Regarding, Title, Description, Is Document.  The Is Document field should be set to Yes for all rows of data.  Use the Account Guid of the Active Account for the Regarding field.  You can obtain the Account Guid by doing a select statement in SQL or exporting your active accounts to Excel from within the application and selecting Dynamic Worksheet as the export option.  Unhide all fields in Excel after you Export and you will see the Account guids.

I mostly rely on Data migration manager and here is a step by step guidance on the same:

Hi Chinmay,

Thanks for your responses,

The fields that I am attempting to map > import include the the following. Remembering that this data relates to 'Leads'.

Company Name
Address
Suburb
State
Postcode
Phone
Fax
Mobile
Website
Contact
Email
Notes       <-- Not sure how to data map and import this.

Hi Chinmay,

sorry for the delay, yes Ihad some more time today to go through your post and in particular the links. So it looks like I will need to first import the leads, in order to get the 'Regarding' value, then will these values have to be exported and populated into a list along side the relevant notes...

I am still a little confused.

Yes. First import regular records for example say Accounts. After that export a dynamic worksheet and then follow the steps mentioned in earlier comments.
