Windows 2008 R2 server cannot connect internet, no ping, but I can connect it via RDP

Hi there;

I bought lately a VPS solution having Windows 2008 R2 on it but the server cannot connect internet, no ping, but I can connect it via RDP, and I can reach local IIS server via my browser.

At first, I turned off "Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration is enabled" but nothing.

I cannot ping google, but the connection is live in network settings (I can RDP to the machine).

but that machine cannot ping as said.

What to do? How to fix?

Have you setup network ok?

Net mask

ping you can fix by firewall

yes, when i ipconfig /all,
I have my ip which is assigned by the hosting company, i have my subnet mask and default gateway and dns servers.

The firewall is turned off by all means.

but no connection to internet and still cannot ping www.google.com

I can connect with RDP and IIS of that server is reachable by a machine outside of that hosting company domain.

What to do?

Contact support of hosting company. It can be some settings on their HW Firewall.
Your hosting company probably doesn't allow ICMP outbound. probably just http https and dns unless you ask for it specifically. Ask them to open up ping from your VPS they should comply
