Asian characters or different font appear when I press backspace in Outlook 2010

In Outlook 2010, when I press backspace to delete a letter, when I begin typing again I will either get a different font, or asian characters. Is there a fix for this? I'm on Win7.

Do you happen to use the Cisco ViewMail addin in Outlook 2010?

In our environment, the ViewMail addin is causing the exact behavior that you're noting -- when a user, for instance, is in Adobe Acrobat and then goes to FileAttach to Email the resulting email draft will produce Asian characters whenever backspacing in the email body itself.

There appears to be no fix for this ViewMail addin issue yet from Cisco, so our only recommendations for temporary alleviation to this issue have been to (a) either disable the ViewMail addin in Outlook, or (b) have the user compose a brand new email draft directly from Outlook and then attach their PDF to the email draft afterward.

We also have ViewMail installed and after reading the expert's advice, found that this is indeed what was causing our problem.
