Thanks! I clicking the review tab and going to the track changes section showed me that tracking was on and it was actually password secured. I was just copying and pasting using a old file as template from another user that I was given. That explains it. I just copied and pasted everything into a new document and it didn't carry over the track changes setting.

I have office 2013 preview. I clicked a red line like demonstrate in on this webpage:<br />
