what programming language what used in the original Atari 2600 cartridge games?

Hi experts,

Does anyone know what programming language was used to create the cartridge games like Pac Man, Space Invaders, Frogger , Combat for the original Atari 2600 game system?

Atari 2600 uses a Motorola 6507 microprocessor which was based on the 6502.  It was programmed in assembly language.

The EPROMs were programmed using an assembly code for the MOS 6502 CPU.
There's now a high level interpreter that's been developed by Atari enthusiasts using a form of BASIC
