Space in Exchange 2010 Log folder

Hi experts,

Please could you help me with exchange backup logs.

I have exchange logs size around 100GB in L drive which is  450 GB but every time I found that L drive is running out space.

Please could you advise me where is the rest of 350GB space gone!

I have checked hidden files or folder but apart of recycle bin there is nothing and recycle bin size is less then 1mb.

Thank you

Give your account Full control on the folder first and then check its space .... it wont show you the space just like that :)

is it possible that you have located the DB and logs on the same dive ?!

If you dont see much .... Enable "Show hidden files" and "System files" this will show you "Volume System" folder .... this is hopefully consuming the 350GB.

Administration of Active Directory does not have to be hard.  Too often what should be a simple task is made more difficult than it needs to be.The solution?  Hyena from SystemTools Software.  With ease-of-use as well as powerful importing and bulk updating capabilities.

Thanks very much for your prompt reply.

No, We have DB and logs in two different drive.

I have enable "Show hidden files" and "System files" and can see "Volume System" folder which size is 0 byte.

Thank you ¿

Thanks Rancy,

I am just taking backup first so I can play without any fear as I don't want to take any risk with exchange :)

I will update you soon.

Thank you :)

Hello Rancy,

Thanks for your help.

This problem resolved by creating "Shadow copies". I got most of the disk space back after  creating Shadow copies.
Once more question. Is it OK to enable and create shadow copies twice a month on Exchange server?

500 poings is your's :)

Thank you again for your great help. ¿
Cheers
Vijay

I would say to leave the Shadow copies enabled but just try to do a cleanup every 2 weeks or so as per how they are filling up space :)
