Summarizing in Crystal Reports

I have only started using CR again after a few years and need some general advice.  I have report where i would like to summarise all my purchase order amounts based on criteria which I have already used in another report.

I obviously could create this easily including all the data and then using a running total but I only want to show the summaries and not the detail.

What is the cleanest way to do this?

I don't really see the relevance of 'another report'- can you explain?

" i would like to summarise all my purchase order amounts based on criteria which I have already used in another report"

If you have created your summary totals then just hide the detail section (right click on the Detail label on the left)
