Error message when i launch XenApp 6.5 App Center and run discovery

Hello there,

I have published App Center from dedicated Data Collector in XenApp 6.5 farm, and when i launched it using a test account, I am getting the following message (attached).

User is member of Helpdesk group which has Custom level permissions assigned.

Please advise.

Thanks and Regards,

See this thread which many had the same exact issue, where many solutions where proposed:

http://forums.citrix.com/thread.jspa?threadID=262957&start=15&tstart=0

The different solutions range between DCOM permissions, changing services local system/network service, propagating View Published Application and Content permission up the hierarchy of the folder structure, running dscheck /clean on the zone Data Collector, or using the admin account that was first used to install XenApp to resolve the issue.

Try the latter three methods and see how it goes.

I have set the permissions correctly as per the above KB article. Attached is the screenshot.

But still I am getting this error while discovery, after launching AppCenter.

Please advise.

In your second attachment you have granted the Log on to Management Console permission to your custom account; however have you granted one or more of the following in the intermediate folders in the Applications Folder?
View Published Application and Content
View RM Applications and Content
View Session Management

You might also grant these permissions on the parent Applications folder and then select Copy to SubFolders button.

the help desk group is added in the Data Collector server in local administrators group.

You can perform two things.

First check that the IMA and MFCOM services on the Data collector are running.

Second when your run the discovery, click on configure, remove any server name, add the LocalHost and then run the discovery again.

Yes both the services are running and secondly when I run the discovery, i added the local host server, still the same message as I have attached (AppCenter 3). What I find is that it may be some permission issue, if I use my login user account ( not the admin account), I could launch AppCenter OK.

If you are sure that you have granted View Published Application and Content permission for that user then ensure that the problematic user is a member of the Built in Distributed COM Users group on the server or at least a member of any domain security group that is nested in the Distributed COM Users local group on the server.

"Changing View Published Application and Content permission up the hierarchy of the folder structure, did the trick".
And discovery process went OK.
