Setup Tomcat & IIS on two different machines

Hi all,

I need to setup IIS working with Tomcat on 2 different servers. These servers are connected in a LAN.

I don't much experience working with IIS, though one time I was able to setup IIS with tomcat, only that time both were running on the same machine.

The problem now, is that when I try to create a new website in IIS, I need to enter the physical directory where the website files are, and in this case, they are located on a different server. I know I could map a network drive, in order to tell IIS that the files are located in somewhere like "Z:\mySharedDir", however, I don't believe that option is desirable at all, because the website will depend on this mapped network drive, which even if it's configured to "reconnect at next logon", the drive letter might change (from Z: to Y: etc.), and also, communication between both won't be made trhough http.

Should I just map a network drive?? or is there any other better option??. If anyone has setup IIS & tomcat on 2 different machines, please let me know what's the best practice for this.

Any suggestions will be really appreciated.

I ended up using a different connector for Tomcat & IIS, and finally worked. It wasn't the best solution though, because this new connector has issues.
