After the delayed delivery do you get any Undeliverable or the email is eventually sent to the external recipient ?
Is this happening for one domain or all ?

Ideally this issue happens if your External server isnt able to communicate and route email to recipient Gateway server at the first step ... it then as per settings will try again in sometime and if cant after as many tries as mentioned in settings it will drop the email and send you a Undeliverable (NDR) notification.

450 4.4.1 [internal] Connection Timed Out -- Clearly means the recipient servers didnt respond to your server request ..... so issue at their end and not yours :)

NFR key for Veeam Agent for Linux

Veeam is happy to provide a free NFR license for one year.  It allows for the non‑production use and valid for five workstations and two servers. Veeam Agent for Linux is a simple backup tool for your Linux installations, both on‑premises and in the public cloud.

If so check if the Recipient domain made some changes or need to whitelist or why do they have your domain rejecting ?
Try to check with Recipient IT admins for this.
