Hi everone,

Recently i moved some .pst files from my file server to external hard drive. After i've finnished all that and delete those files on files server i realized that one folder with 6 .pst files is missing (I deleted it but didnt move it to ext drive). I've found these .pst with same names as in origin state with some recovery tools but they are useless ( all .pst are 0bytes heavy). Can anyone help with this?

yes there is a trial. install it without the key.. suggest creating an image of the affected drive though (for safety's sake)

This is a server, right?  If you had it setup properly, you should have had Volume Shadow Copies (VSS) enabled.  In which case, if you did this within the last few days or even weeks, you should be able to easily recover the files on the server - just right-click on the parent folder for where one or more PST files was located and go to the "Previous Versions" tab.  Pick a date prior to the deletion and browse that - when you find the files, drag and drop them out.

Of course, if you DIDN'T setup the server with VSS (which is a feature of Server 2003 and later), then you're stuck using these programs and frankly, given this is a server, I would suspect all the data is likely lost at this point.  (When you "accidentally" delete something, as soon as you realize it was deleted, you need to stop using the drive completely to have the best chance of recovery... a server's drive is in constant use and odds are, the areas of the drive originally containing those files have been at least partially overwritten by now.

No VSS is not enabled. This srv is a virtual machine (vmware) so its hard drive is virtula with some space allocated from storage. All this what i am doing is in offline mode (network adapter not connected). Is there a chance that pst I am looking for are 0 bytes because I need to be on my domain netowork where my sotrage is?
