Hello,

Can you give us more information on what you are doing a presentation for?

If its just general things then the list can go on forever

fahad44Author Commented:
The main purpose for the presentation is to brief  head of IT departments and other IT colleagues in different countries about the current IT setup for our country and to give clear picture how things are are and how IT issues are resolved.

In Addition to the points mentioned: it would help if you list out

1. Applications hosted in your environment that are accessed by other countries. (if any)
2. Support staff details for these applications. (may be covered under support structure)
3. service level metrics  (if any) for services offered by your team.
4. Future plans for upgrade/update and their benefits

Dear sipl:

This is very helpful topics,

do you have support structure template that I can use, I need to create IT  support structure and I am  the only IT staff in the office and I support 80 users.

Maybe worth mentioning any service level agreement (SLA's) that are in place with ISP's to resolve faults within a timely manor.

They maybe interested to know the amount of traffic being put through your networks and how you shape/prioritise the traffic.

They maybe interested to know how you protect your users from unsafe content on the web.

It would be interesting to know about fault tolerance on your network, if you main link goes down, is there anything in place to keep the network running.

Also, how are your staff trained?  How do they keep upto date with the latest technologies?   When are they reviewed?  How do you insure that they are technically competent?

Sorry I don't have a PPT.  There are lots of topics you can have.

Hi fahad44,

If you wanted to you could elaborate on all of it but if its a basic guide then it should be ok.

The email troubleshooting one may need changing.  What if it is an email problem on customers premises?  It doesn't show what action will be taken.  I imagine the action would be to inform the customer IT company/department.

Also, what about Telephone issues? Are you covering that under hardware and Network?

fahad44Author Commented:
Thanks for the comment.

for the email the IT officer provides the needed support and no one else provide support.

for the telephone I forgot and I will add it. this version was first version of the document and I will add other few things  so my question was is this can be a support structure ? and what area that I need to add to the support structure document.

Your document is more like a support process rather than a support structure.

I would think that the support structure would show the Support Engineers and how the problems are escalated through the various staff to get resolved?

I.e.

User complains of no Internet> Passed to 1st line support staff> Passed to Second line Support Staff> Passed to Core Network Staff> Passed to Site Engineer etc.

I maybe wrong but that's my view on 'Support Structure'.
