new stranger in my systray

i am running a dell laptop win 7 home...

i see a new stragne icon in the systry...

it is a black box   witha "9"  white print ..

not sure what it is... but i do not think it belongs.
holding mouse over it, or clicking   right , left double... does nothing.....

anyone familiar with such an icon?

    Hi There,

    I believe that this is dell quickset.

    Some more information can be found here

    Check task manager for quickset.exe and terminate it and see if it goes away.

    Yes, that is dell quickset, it generally appears if you press one of the lock button like CAPS lock or NUM lock

    intelogent--If you do not want to see that icon right click on a blank spot in the Taskbar|Customize|Scroll to the icon in left column (which also will tell you what it is)|under Behavior (right) column|set drop down to "Hide Icon and Notications".
