We use exchange 2007. I have a user called as Jaya David  and  i created this user  account as jdavid in 2008 AD instead of creating as jda

I went to AD and deleted the  Jdavid  and recreated as jda and now if i go to the global address list and  type Jaya
I can see two Jaya David appearing. so the first Jaya David is the account which i deleted in the AD.
I alos went to exchange and searched for jdavid and it cannot find any account.

So is it possible to delete the first invalid entry in the GAL or is there any way around to remove this entry, because when the staff search for her hame it comes with two same names.

Are you checking this in Outlook cache .... if so try with OWA or Outlook online as it updates right away compared to Outlook cache which uses OAB :)

I tried in OWA and it dosent show two entries. I can see only one entry that is jda, which is supposed to be. But if i log into the outlook  2010 client as my self and the user(Logged for the first time) it shows 2 entries as Jdavid and jda

As i said if Outlook is in cache mode it takes afftect next morning after OAB is updates and sent to Outlook cache mode users ... or else create the Outlook profile in Online mode and you will see only ... one or the new entry.
