How to disable web.config Inheritance for Child Applications in Subfolders in ASP.NET?
Posted on 2012-09-04
OK, so I have a website (myfakewebsite.org)
I have three children applications that need to run on it. (app1, app2, app3)
app1 and app2 run fine because they inherit from the myfakewebsite.org's web.config, but app3 has its own web config, and yet it needs to be ran as myfakewebsite.org/app3/default.aspx.
I have tried the <location path="." inheritInChildApplications="false"> thing and that made my app3 work great! Only trouble was - my app1 and app2 stopped working.
How can I set up my root web config in such way where my app1 and app2 still inherit from root, and app3 does not.
Please provide a code example, and be specific as to where exactly I should place the code.
Thank you much in advance - it is very important!
