Internet Explorer 8 Tools Grayed Out, Some Web Pages Don't Open

IE 8, Win7
Google Chrome works fine<<<<<<
IE8 without add-ons works fine<<<<<<
Most IE add-ons disabled
www.google.com opens fine.

www.youtube.com causes IE to hang after loading the first parts of the page.
Tools become mostly grayed out.
Have to force IE to close thereafter.
First was hung loading a doubleclick URL.
Now is hung loading about:blank.

Have run sfc with no issues.
Have run Malwarebytes with no hits.

Disabled IE8 and rebooted.
Re-enabled IE8... no help.

hosts files is normal.

that usually means that a group or local policy has been applied. Are you a member of a domain? if not what antivirus/malware tools have you got installed?

It's not a member of a domain.
AVG full version is installed (w/firewall)
I'll check Flash..

Thanks for the points, I ran into the resolution by accident, and I was experiencing the exact same issue on six workstations that I have recently deployed with windows 7 64 bit. When ever I installed the most recent adobe flash player, the end user complained about very slow or freezing IE, browsing the internet worked fine using firefox. I rolled back flashplayer and everything worked fine.

As I mentioned, it appears the *now* latest version has overcome this issue.
