share network drive on mounted acronis image?

hi i hope you are well.

im trying to copy data over a network from a mounted acronis image .

on the source pc (XP PRO) i can share the folder on the mounted acronis image on the sharing tab, but i cant change any of the security permissions.

i can see the shared folder from the target but cant access it due to permisions...

anybody know how to do this?

i could reverse target and source but i dont want to do this for reasons i wont bore you to death with.

advice appreciated!

Since you didn't specify, I'm going to assume you're using Acronis Home 2011. I know that by default when you mount an Acronis image, it is in read-only mode.

Here is an Acronis KB article detailing how to mount the image in read/write mode.

http://kb.acronis.com/content/13327

After mounting it in read/write, you should be able to modify the NTFS and Share Permissions in such a way to access it from the target machine.

Let me know if this helps!
