Recommendations for a cheap D2D tape drive for home lab testing.

Hi

My workplace uses HP D2D backup systems with BE 12. In order to gain some experience I was looking to purchase a similar type of device, only a lot cheaper (hopefully)

What would you recommend I should by for the purpose of testing, etc.

Also, can anyome offer any links to tutorials to working with D2Ds -

Cheers

I'm not sure what you mean with "D2D Tape Drive". D2D stands for Disk to Disk and doesn't have anything to do with a tape drive. You can usually use any hard-disk or USB attached hard-disk for this, and often use can also use a network share or NAS to backup to.

The D2D we use has a built in tape drive. It's a HP box, looks like a normal PC only with a tape loader at the top. Little bit expensive for a home lad, i was looking for something that would emulate this for testing purposes.....

That would be something that does D2D2T (Disk to Disk and then to Tape). Just get an extra tape drive to do that.
