Overwrite Protection Issue - Symantec Backup Exec 2010

I have a NAS that I use for monthly backups.  I don't want anything over written.  I have it set to Keep Data Infinitely Do not allow Overwrite.  I have the media set set to Keep Data Infinitely Do not allow Overwrite.  I have the radio box checked append to media, overwrite if no appendable media available.

I'm not sure if I should have append to media, terminate job if  no appendable is available but it's still trying to overwrite what's in there.

How can I get around this?

Make below changes, it will work.

1. In the job properties, check option "Append to media, terminate job if  no appendable is available."

2. In Media Set properties:
Overwrite protection : Infinit- Don't allow overwrite.
Append period: Infinit- Allow append.
