Date range archiving in Lotus Notes

Hello all,

I am running Lotus Notes (Release 8.5.2FP4) on a Windows 7 Pro machine.

Is there a way to archive emails based on a date range?

So, I have emails that have been accumulating for 3 months now, and I want to archive emails from June, July and August separately, in their own respective archive files.

I have looked at the archive criteria Lotus Notes offers - it just doesn't seem to have what I am looking for.

Any ideas?
Sharone.

I think I can confirm that there is no such way.

Why do you want to archive mails that way? What's your requirement?

I can only tell you the way I use and archive my mail database. I have one (3 Gb) archive db and one active mail db (around 100 Mb). Mails are archived after 2 (or 3) months, automatically. Both databases are enabled for Rich-Text Searching, so I can find any mail I need. I use the All Documents view to see mails and responses at the same time. I can sort by column (Who) to see 'conversations' with the same person. It works for me.

sjef_bosman,

What I typically do and has worked for me for years is to archive emails by month. I usually  remember when an email was sent by the month, and I can go directly to that month archive and retrieve my desired email.

I come from Microsoft Outlook, where the archive feature offers a lot more control over criteria. I am new to Lotus Notes, and still getting used to the differences.

I've requested that this question be deleted for the following reason:

Didn't get an answer. Question is not relevant anymore.
You got some answers, but you didn't like them. That's not really our fault, is it? 3not possible" can be a valid answer at EE...

I'd also like to know why the question is no longer relevant. How is the issue solved then? What changed?

I did not have an issue with the answers, I am ok with "not possible". But, are you saying I should still award points? If the answer to that is 'yes' - that's fine, just let me know what the EE way is.

The question is not relevant anymore, because our company has moved to Outlook.
Yes, that's the usual way, and depending on the quality you can give an A, B, or a C. I'll object, so you can close the question differently. You can also wait for a Moderator to comment here, to get the more formal ways of closing the question.

ok. Go ahead and object, and I'll award the points.

Not exactly what I was looking for, but I understand there is no way to do what I am looking to do.
@Mod: please review this question. Thanks.
