Email messages dissapear after being opened.

I am using outlook 2007 with a couple of pop accounts configured. Everytime I open a message from one particular account I can read and print it. When I close it, it dissapears. it isnt in the deleted items, where could they be going? I checked my settings and I do not have the delete from server after deleting the item checked. I am at a loss any help would be appreciated.

Check View/Current View and make sure you aren't showing only unread messages

First off check if you are not viewing only unread items in the favorites shortcuts.
2cnd you write
"I checked my settings and I do not have the delete from server after deleting the item checked"
that has nothing to do with your problem, that's when you download messages with pop, they stay on the server even after you delete the message in outlook.
BTW, gmail ignores this and always keeps your messages.
Third, check your rules, make sure there is no rule specific for this account to delete the message after reading (that's probably the problem).

If you dont have too many custom views that you really need

Simply open outlook using
Start>Run>Outlook.exe /cleanviews

This will reset all current, customm or broken views in outlook back to their defaults

SHould be okay after that

If you still have issues, its possible as above, there could be a rule thats moving it.

If both the above dont help

Close and reopen outlook using
Start>Run>Outlook.exe /safe

try it in safe mode
If its okay here, its likely there is an 3rd party app or Addin that causing the behavior
We can then look at disabling the add in
