Can anyone point me to a detailed tutorial on how to send iPhone push notifications from a asp.net server in Visual Basic?

All of them that I have found are for C#.

Hi David,

I'm a VB'er too, but as you are getting into iOS and probably objective C you are really starting to learn a "real" programming language.

I also hate that I cannot find tutorials or blogs or examples of things in VB as easily as I can find C# ones.

My answer to your question is there are no full tutorials with explanation in VB on this topic.

I have found the C# explanations are the same and Use this online converter from which I have rarely had a problem.

By the way this Forum question written in VB.net is going to help.

I hear your point. But dang. I'd have to rewrite the entire we service that I've already got runnning for my app. So many hours of work to get it running in C#.

There's got to be a way to send a simple JSON string with a certificate to and APN with Visual Basic.

And I hear yours.  It is soooo damn annoying that VB is not blogged and tutorials that much.  But if you do not have VS express then you can add C# to your VB project and you can call the methods.

Ok, so. I've started a project in C#. I'm not an amazing programmer so this is going to sound really stupid. But the example code that I've found  has a line that says

"var notificationService = new NotificationService(sandBox, p12FileName, p12Password, numConnections);"

This is referencing the NotificationService.cs file found in the APS-sharp library that I downloaded. How to I reference a separate .cs file?

Thanks. I rewrote my VB webservice in C# and used APNs-Sharp to manage my push notifications. Works like a champ.
