Setting up Mac Mail with new Office365 account.

I am setting up a company with Office365 email.
They all use macs and all use Mac Mail.
The current email setup is POP mail.
What is the best way to setup Mac mail with new Office365 account and import the legacy pop mail that is currently sitting in Mac Mail at the moment ?

ok, well if there email is on a mac email server then you would need to migrate the email from there to the 365 server.  you want to get as much info as possible as to where the email server resides, what are the mac mail clients connecting to.  then once you have that info you can make a better decision as to how to migrate the email.

as long as you have the autodiscover record in place in external dns it will autoconfigure the mac mail client.  as far as moving the email from wherever it is now to the 365 server you would need to migrate the email.  wheres the mac mail now?  is it a hosted pop service or is it an exchange server?  either way it needs to be migrated.

The mail is sitting in their Mac mail currently. It pops everything down to their Mac Mail client currently to the best of my knowledge.

Is it not like Outlook, i.e. can I export mail from mac mail client ?
When outlook for example connects to pop mail account, it pulls mail down locally. You can then export to PST and re-import after setup of office365.

i cant tell you if mac mail makes a pst type format so outlook can read it.  if it was outlook for mac then yes.

After some research, it appears best option for me is to Setup O365 as additonal mailbox in Mac Mail. And then simply drag and drop old mails form pop account.
