Anyone know if Sophos antivirus on 2008 server write to an event log when its sgnatures have been updated?

I need to know when the server has received a virus signature update and if it writes it to the application or system log?

No... Sophos keeps its own set of logs separate  in sophos click view update log.

Now if your using enterprise console there may be a way.

Thanks, I can use the console. What I was trying to do was use Kaseya to pick out an event in the event log so I know when a signature has been updated, and send an email you a support email address to we know when he particular client server has a new virus signature..

You would need something that can monitor the log files for changes and report what the change was.

If your using the console then the console will tell you if it is not updating as well as what version the signatures are.

Maybe I can write some vbscript to read them. Was just thinking it would write an event into the application event logs where I can pull out an eventid=xxxxx - update successful or something where the control panel can send an SMTP message when it has successfully updated the viral signatures..

Thank you for your help,
Viper....
