Peoplesoft AD Authentication

Hello Experts,

Anyone here familar with peoplesoft? I hope so because I am not.

From inside my companies website when I access the URL for peoplesoft, I go to an IIS server on the inside network that displays a peoplesoft web page with a username and password. I authenticate with my AD username and password.

Question, I'm just curious and I hope it's a short easy answer. How does peoplesolft authenticate my AD credentials? I assume the website was configured to use AD servers for authentication. So when I input my credentials, peoplesoft passes it to the AD servers. Does that sound right?

This Red Paper provides guidance in properly configuring LDAP for use with PeopleTools. Depending onthe needs of your site, this can be a long complex process or one that is relatively straight forward. It ishighly recommended that you also review your directory documentation and how it is setup based on youcompany’s needs. You need to become very familiar with how the LDAP directory functions in order toproperly setup PeopleSoft authentication to work with it.

So when I input my credentials, peoplesoft passes it to the AD servers. Does that sound right? -- Yes
