dual boot error very wired

I have a laptop (acer aspire 9920) with vista on it. The problem is that un i start the pc when he is on sector, the machine try to boot on xp (witch don't exist).
when  i  see the bcd regestry nothnig about any xp system. But if i try f8 just before xp boot, i can see the normal boot selector of xp.
ONly one hard drive, of course no cd, usb, or any other device.

Have you a idea where i can look?

    Did you instal vista over xp?

    solution found, two mbr for one hard drive, avast tool to see the two mbr and correct thre problem
