Bad switch port for nic card would that cause win2008 server errors 5962 and 162?

These errors 5962 and 162 showed as config change error messages when rebooted server- can't find detail on what these errors mean.

Do these error messages come up on the BIOS screen when the server boots?
What is the make and model of the server?
Is this an IBM server?
Can you please post the exact message that comes up with each code?

Depending on the server the meaning of the codes might be different..
Code 162 - configuration change
could mean that when the server booted it found something different to what was already configured in the BIOS
so this would mean some kind of hardware change - add/removing a device or memory or something.

Code 5962 IDE DVD drive configuration error
could mean that there is something wrong with the way the DVD drive is connected/configured

I dont think a network cable/switch port problem would cause these errors
You wont be able to tell if there are fixed until you reboot the server again
You also might have to reboot, go into the BIOS, exit and save the config to clear the error messages.

I think I just saw it there too....
That's a pretty low points value you've assigned to this question, people who answer

Good luck

Thank you.  Sorry if points were too stingy.
