Why won't Internet Explorer or logmein work on this Win7 Gateway computer
I’m setting up a new laptop for a customer. Gateway ne56r13u Intel B820 with 8GB memory running Win7 Premium 64 bit.
I have connectivity both wired and wirelessly. I can get on the Internet with Firefox and also Windows Update downloads and installs updates. But IE9 says it can’t connect to the Internet. When I do diagnosis the troubleshooter can’t say what the problem is. Also I tried to install Logmein. There I’m eventually stopped by a message saying, “a connection with the server could not be established”. I looked for proxy servers but didn’t find any. I tried turning off IPV6 on the adapters but that didn’t help.
So…. What do Firefox and Windows Update know that Internet Explorer and Logmein don’t?
Thanks,
Al

What is the home page in IE? Can you retype google.com in the url to see if it's a site issue?

tylerpayne that did it. SSL 3.0 and TLS 1.0 were checked but SSL2.0 wasn't. But now I have IE and logmein.
