outlook 2010 saving attachments

Seeing a strange issue within outlook 2010,

when a user gets a Jpg file as an attachment, he right clicks and saves it however instead of it calling it file.jpg, It calls it file (no extension) and the drop down shows as all files, so when you save it, its a non recognized file.

Any ideas?

call it file.jpg and save it to desktop. Then right click the file and do open as and pick the progam you want to open it with, it should remember the setting from here on out.

add the .jpg when it takes it away

Save the file and then rename the file extation as .jpg or save file as for "filename.jpeg" then check.

What does it mean to be "Always On"?

Is your cloud always on? With an Always On cloud you won't have to worry about downtime for maintenance or software application code updates, ensuring that your bottom line isn't affected.

shouldn't it automatically know what it is? I have office 2010 and when i save an attachment, it saves correctly without any intervention

It should but who knows, things happen. Did you try it and did it not work?

Not sure if this is an office issue as much as it may be an OS issue
What OS is being used

Make sure its got the latest SP installed

Also make sure you have the latest SP for office 2010 installed
