I hid the ribbon bar in my startup form onload event with DoCmd.ShowToolbar “Ribbon”, acToolbarNo  and unchecked several options in access option current db.

How can I redisplay it so I can get to code window etc.?

you should be able to get to the VBA code window by pressing Ctrl-G

Then you can use:

DoCmd.ShowToolbar “Ribbon”, acToolbarYes
