I am attempting to migrate from SBS 2003 to SBS 2011. Over the past several weeks I have resolved many errors created on the SBS 2003 Box by a previous DC that was improperly decommissioned/ removed from the network.

1. I am currently experiencing the following error: Access control list (ACL) inheritance is blocked

I have gone through each object and sub-object using the Exchange System Manager and each object and sub-object allow for inheritable permissions.

2. I am also experiencing the following error: Error is found in DNS zone mydomain.local

I have removed any references to the previously decomissioned server and had to change the subnet to 192.168.16.X from 10.0.0.X due to the fact that MS doesn't support this private class. All DNDS records relate to the current subnet of 192.168.16.X

I am really at a loss and this migration is well beyond its due date.

Thank you for any suggestions.

Issue #1 resolved.
Exchange Best Practices Anaylzer needed to be downloaded, installed and run in order to identify the offending object.
