Scanner Icon

Running Mac OS X, Version 10.7.4.  I have a Canon Scanner 8600, has worked fine for years.  I just update CanoScan software.  Now, when I go to my CanoScan Toolb icon on desktop I get this message:

The operation can’t be completed because the original item for “CanoScan Toolbox 5.0” can’t be found.

I can operate the scanner if I go into Applications and choose CanoScan - how do I get it to work with the desktop icon again?

I'm not familiar with OSX, but I guess you can copy a working icon from applications menu to your desktop. Probably the location of the program has changed, so the old shortcut is not working...
