Your problem is that your AV software is scanning your Exchange files. You don't want AV software scanning Exchange files directly because it can delete or quarantine files if a virus is detected. This is bad for Exchange because it you don't want log files touched outside Exchange. As you can see in your situation, your AV software is preventing access to a log file. All Exchange files should be excluded from file scanning. You need to use an Exchange specific AV scanner if you want to scan inside the stores.

Try setting up exclusion in your AV software for the Exhcnage files then try running the backup again.

ESEUTIL /R : The database was repair successfully but not the backup - This is a soft recovery command and doesnt really repair or fix the corruption stuff in Mailbox Database :(

Is this a DAG and LAG environment ?
Was it working fine before ?
Was the Backup software upgraded ? If so was the agents upgraded on the server as well ?
What is the status of VSS writes ?
What error do you get on the Backup Application and on the server ?

Problems using Powershell and Active Directory?

Managing Active Directory does not always have to be complicated.  If you are spending more time trying instead of doing, then it's time to look at something else. For nearly 20 years, AD admins around the world have used one tool for day-to-day AD management: Hyena. Discover why

Hello,

The server is not in a DAG
I don't know if the backup was working fine before. I get the server without it
I use the Windows Integrated backup software so no way to update it
The VSS are stable without Error
I have this kind of erro message :
- Backup 565
- ESE 518 : This error indicates that the system try to Access to a log file located in the Shadow copy folder but was unable to access to it.
Cannot access Because another error talking about a Netsky Virus in the Shadow copy folder

I wanted to have access to this folder to purge it but i don't know how.
I install the Disk cleanup utility to clean the Shadowcopy, but unfortunately the option is disable.

Tell me if you need more.

Thanks

So you have a AV "Netsky Virus" ?
If yes do we have exclusions set not to scan Exchange files ?
I wanted to have access to this folder to purge it but i don't know how - Which account is used for Backup ?
How many logs do you have on the Logs location ?

I try to change two settings on regedit regarding (VSS and DAG)... Not working - What change did you make ?

Thank you all

As i said, the Symantec antivirus already delete a file from the database and i use the eseutil tool to repair the database.

My problem now is to have a backup working without the constitency failure. I work long night on this issue and i notice something :
- When the backup lunch, an error from symatec appear regarding a log file the backup cannot access... But it's not a file on my system !!! it's a file on the shaddow copy volume :
Device\HarddiskVolumeShadowCopy42\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\Mailbox\Mailbox Database 0254421366\E00000023FF.log
I already exclude the exchange folder from the file. But how can you manage the VolumeShaddowcopy ??

Thanks

I would say to Dismount DB move all files apart from the DB and mount and try .....

Other option could be is to create a new Database move all users and delete the current one and work without issues or prolonging :)

I'm not confortable with dismounting the data base and move the file without any backup...
Are you sure of you ?

But no one can explain me how to remove the shaddowcopy volume ???

Are you sure of you ? - Yes i am always sure what i am doing :)

One Q ... are you looking at the old database backup or the new one is the issue ??

But no one can explain me how to remove the shaddowcopy volume ??? - Share a screenshot and tell me the size of that folder and i can run you through this

Disabled AV only comes if you dont have exclusions for Exchange related files\folders and stuff :(
