Frequency of communication between Citrix Receiver and Web Interface server

Hello there,

We have rolled out Citrix Receiver 13.1 to users PC across the network. Previously in Citrix Online Plugin 11.2, there was an option to right click on the icon and refresh it.

We do not have this option in Citrix Receiver. Only we can achieve this is to right click the receiver icon on the system tray and exit it, and then go to All Programs -> Citrix -> Receiver and click it start it again.

I would like to know:
1. How frequently will Citrix receiver communicates with WI server?
2. Is there any other way to refresh the Cirtrix Receiver?

Please advise.

Thanks and Regards.

Hi,

There are different versions and editions of receiver 3., so it depends on did you use standalone or enterprise version. I suggest that you use 3.3 anyway. If you still use WI and pnagent site, than download 'receiver 3.3 legacy (PNA support). You'll be able to right click icon > about > advanced > refresh applications.

Receiver checks for available apps when user logs in, atomatic update is done in 8 hours interval (I'm not 100% sure about timeframe)

Moreover to the above posts; you needn't exit the receiver to refresh. You could have only disconnected and reconnected from the session. This will have the effect to refresh also while all your apps are still running.
