How to copy or transfer all Data of Samsung Galaxy S3 (in use) to a NEW Samsung Galaxy S3
We have been using Samsung Galaxy S3 for some months now, but 2 weeks ago it began to have problems with emails. After the provider checked the unit they gave us a new Samsung Galaxy S3 so we can set it up with our data and return the bad one.
We need to transfer all data from the bad unit to the new unit. We want to also transfer emails config, apps (like viber, whatsapps, etc.) to the new device without no need of re-installing and reconfiguration.
We would like to do the same process (easy & fast) as with iPhone 4. We can backup a iPhone device and restore all data to the new device super fast and successful, no reconfiguration.
Thank you all!
Note: please moderator, we search the zones; is you can place it to the appropriate zone, greatly appreciate it.

Do we need to do "rooting" in order to get a full backup of the unit? Can we use Samsung Kies to backup all data including apps, images, etc. and restore it to the new one?
on the their website i found this:
"Works on non-root phones, as well as root phones.
Root phones have the ability to backup APK+Data and Market Links."-http://www.rerware.com/Android-Backup/
i read that to have full access to your phone, it must be rooted.

Understood, but can Samsung Kies software do a backup/restore of the actual device?

And apps? Does it back them?

We used Kies but had to reinstall all apps.
Will proceed close question.

Though we partially fixed the problem via Kies, we gave C because we felt the the expert was not to familiar with the problem and was only referring to links. That being said, we were not comfortable using root on the devices.
But thank you very much
