Internet Filtering Not Working - Please Help

Hello All,

I am in desperate need of fixing my filtering in my home network. Open DNS rocked for the first few weeks with complete blockage of bad sites but now its not blocking any more...I am not sure why...PLEASE see the word attached in this question..

When I try typing some sites that should not be viewed by kids, it shows up. Hence the filtering against those bad sites is not working.
4.      I also tried to go to command prompt and try ipconfig /flushdns but  I am still able to see those bad sites
5.      In this case, I can only rely on EE Experts here who can tell me what I need to do. I really need to filter my internet.
EE has changed my life so far and I am very thankful to it.

Thank you and God Bless
Rayne

Hello aadi369 :)

The kids can use any browser really IE, chrome and else. So setting one browser setting might not be useful. Also they have there own laptops they use, to access the home Internet

also recongifure the router.....take backup of ur ip ....To be honest with you - I am network newby with very less knowledge about this  - is it possible for you to direct me to a EE answer or any place else that shows me how to do that?

Thank you
Rayne

Dear,
if you want to have content filtering in your home you have to have firewall with content managment service.... blocking bad webites in Browser or registry or ....... is not a SOLUTION... you may become old and your kids will be young while you are still adding / blocking/tying in your pc browser or registry.

now a days almost all firewall supports content filtering, "some with license some without license" in the firewall you will find categories to block ... eg
content filtering
once you block specific category "ALL WEBISTE" who ever fall in category will be automaticlly block.

Did your IP address change?

If so, you may need the OpenDNS Updater
