CustomPresence states in lync 2010 disappeared

Hi there,
i'm having issues setting the custom presence on our lync servers.

I've set the custompresence URL on the default global group to: https://www.wge.com.au/CustomPresence.xml - where i have hosted our xml file.

i have also edited the client registry settings to EnableSIPHighMode to 0 and CustomStateURL to the above URL, as documented in the following:http://www.enpointe.com/blog/Lync-2010-Custom-Presence-States

This worked for a while, but all of a sudden dropped off without warning or without anyone changing anything.

What could cause this?

Thanks!

Did you check the Client Policy to set the Custom Presence is still active and applied to users?

Also check the following registry location of client computer and make sure the CustomStateURL is pointing to right URL.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Communicator

hi Subsun,
Yes i know the client policy is working, because i still get through the custom help message at the start of the chat sessions.

i've also checked that that registry key is present and correct.

it's pointing to https://www.wge.com.au/CustomPresence.xml

yeah i have also tried that, as well as the local File:///C:\SOE\CustomPresence.xml lync.

it's weird, because initially the the setup was working  and it just seemingly dropped off for no reason with all of the clients, so i know the URL and File is correct.

that's a great point! i didn't think it would matter because it was accessing a local resource, but setting a https policy did it for me!!
