Hi,

I have attached a graph where i am trying to get the values to appear as a line going vertically accross the bars. So i have the count in the bars, now i want to add the values 6,000,000 etc

How can i get that as a vertical bar going accross the bars?

Thanks

You need to either unmerge those cells (always a good idea!) or set the chart to interpolate missing values. Attached version has unmerged the cells.

Hello,

first, get rid of the merged cells in the data source. They cause extra space in the chart and complicate things.

Next, create a column chart from the new data set without the merged cells. In the Chart Tools > Layout ribbon, use the selection drop-down to select the "no of Breaks" series, format it and send it to the secondary axis. Then select the "Values" series, right-click and change the series chart type to a line chart.

see attached.

I see Rory has already given you good advice. Sorry for the double up. I was distracted by a phone call and did not refresh before posting my suggestion.
