Accept incoming internal calls but not incoming external calls

Hello.
I need to configure an extension on my pbx wich should work in this way: the extension must accept incoming internal calls but not incoming external calls.

I would like to do this in a simple way, maybe using the FreePBX interface.

I can't find the way to get this behavior using FreePBX. There is any way to do this ?

Thank you

Maybe through dial plan?

If the extension isn't a member of any ring group and is not set as a destination for an incoming call, there should be no incoming calls going to it.

More info is needed.

Thanks for the answer. Here I add more info:

I need to deny external (from outside ) calls to a specific extension number. The other extensions can call that specific extension.

This specific extension is not a member of any queue or ring group. I nee to "isolate" this extension, to receive calls only from the rest of the company extensions.

I hope this shows in a better way the behavior I need.

Thank you all.

Sorry but more info is needed.  They should already be isolated from the outside unless you have a generic directory or automated attendant that lists that extension or allows the caller to dial an extension directly.  Please give info about a normal external incoming call's flow or route it takes.

P.T. thanks for you reply.
Remember we are using FreePBX (on an Elastix), and I will try to explain it better:
People calling from the PSTN is answered by an standard IVR, then they can dial an extension number, eg 1122. In this case, and only for incoming calls from the PSTN, we do a re sending to another extension.
If we use followme, forwarding is always done, but we just need the call be forwarded when the call comes from the PSTN.

You got it?

Best regards.-

Sorry IP, probably with some advanced dialplan programming this could be done but from the FreePBX interface I see no way to do what you are requiring.

For this example, lets use extension 101. From what I'm understanding, you're trying to route outside incoming (PSTN) calls that try to reach extension 101, from the IVR, to another destination. But internal extension to extension calls to 101 should ring 101 directly, yes?

Yes, I know this is an extremely late response but better late than never right?  Did you figure anything out on your own?

Tidder

EDIT: Actually IP, I thought of an easy answer.  Why not set the extension you don't want reached from the IVR as an IVR option pointed to a different extension or destination?  This can be done without touching dialplan directly, just change your IVR options.

Thank you Tidder!
Your answer works for me. I changed the IVR options and now all works the way I wanted.

Glad to hear it!  Sorry for the delay my friend, my job sometimes slams so hard I can't even check my email. :)
