Good Morning All -
As if you couldn't tell by the title, my company's domain netbios name contains special characters - two in fact. The format is "AB&C_DE" I haven't had any compatibility issues as long as I've been here - until last week.
I am in charge of SCCM (2012) on our network and implemented it here myself. One feature we just started using is Software Metering. Basically, this component collects it's data, saves it to individual text-based files (one per host), then adds them to a folder for processing.
I found out that it was throwing many errors after using it and eventually found out it was due to there being special characters in the domain name. Another link...
Once a file fails to process, it is copied to a "corrupt" folder. I tried editing the files, replacing the netbios name with fqdn, then moving it to have it reprocessed, but got the same error.
Aside from changing the domain name, is there any other solution which could be applied here? Is there a way to perhaps add a secondary domain netbios name in dns which resolves and authenticates the same to resolve this issue?
