Hi Team,

We are planned to buy SQL server 2012 standard edition with 30 device licensing.

1) Can any one provide me the link to download sql server 2012 standard evaluation version?
2) Can i have any installation documentation for adding the device with sql server?
3) how to check device is added and working fine with sql server?
4) Also, can i have a query how to check principal server is UP and running fine with DB Mirroring.

Kindly, check and let me know how to work on the above issues.

Thanks,

Here's the download link for the SQL 2012 Evaluation:

I'm not sure what device you intend to "add" or how you intend to connect it, but each client is different - you'd have to read the documentation for the client you're using. If it's just SQL Management Studio, then it's easy to connect and there are a number of tutorials you can find online (like this one: http://learningsqlserver.wordpress.com/2011/02/04/sql-server-management-studio-ssms-basics/)

As far as mirroring status, this query is probably closest to what you'll need (found at http://blog.matticus.net/2010/08/tsql-to-report-db-mirroring-status-and.html):

SELECT a.name
, ISNULL(b.mirroring_role_desc, 'NOT MIRRORED') as mirroring_role_desc
, ISNULL(b.mirroring_state_desc, '') as mirroring_state_desc
, ISNULL(mirroring_safety_level_desc, '') as mirroring_safety_level_desc
FROM sys.databases a
INNER JOIN sys.database_mirroring b on b.database_id = a.database_id
WHERE a.name NOT IN ('master', 'msdb', 'model', 'tempdb', 'distribution')
ORDER BY a.name
