Permissions to AD groups

Hi,

I have following hierarchy in distribution groups in windows
A,B, C are distribution groups in Windows , each with set of windows users
Group A is a part of Group B which in turn is part of Group C
A-> B->C
C has been converted to a security group
I have mapped group C to a sql role and given the role appropriate permissions

My question is since distribution group A and B are part of group C , wouldnt
users in group A and B have the same rights as group C.

Though users in group C are able to connect with those permissions, users in group A and B are not able to inherit those rights.

What could be the possible solution  to this issue?

distribution group are not meant for granting any permissions. You need to convert them to security groups to work.

Group A is part of Group B which is part of Group C
Group C is converted to a security group and mapped to sql login.
Though users in Group C have all the permissions assigned to the role, users in
group A and B do not seem to inherit those rights.

you need to convert A and B to security groups
