Using FreePBX 2.10.0, Asterisk 1.8.11-cert5. Host OS is CentOS 5.8 x86_64.

Phones both remote and local, as well as trunk connections will drop briefly then re-establish. There are also periods of very high latency reported. Additionally, connection via SSH is delayed but is fine once logged in.

Extension 199 is locally connected to the PBX for testing. All other extensions are remote locations (IPSEC tunnel on edge router).

We have ruled out hardware (fully replaced the host machine) and tunnel issues (local phones also experience the same symptoms). The SSH login delay indicated some sort of I/O issue but the drive reports no bad sectors and once logged in the system is responsive and at low load.

Linux xxxxxxxxxxx 2.6.18-308.13.1.el5 #1 SMP Tue Jul 10 08:48:43 EDT
2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

SSH logs:
debug1: Offering RSA public key: /home/xxxxxxxx/.ssh/id_rsa [delay of 5-7 seconds occurs]
debug1: Server accepts key: pkalg ssh-rsa blen 279

@Frankkadaf

    Had a similar issue yesterday -- The majority of my problems were DNS related, (Asterisk is super sensitive to DNS resolution issues) specifically caused but the GoDaddy issues.  I added a couple of records to /etc/hosts and did a stop and restart and my issues went away.

Okay,

     No dice what?  You tried adding IP local records and checked to make sure you were resolving locally or ................

    Depending on your build you should have a tool called mtr available to root, use it to look at some of your links and see where/if you are loosing the connectivity.
