Windows 2008 Server RDP "There are too many users logged in"

I installed the terminal services on a windows 2008 standard server and rebooted the machine.

I have a pop-up: "terminal Server License will expire in 119 days"

I'm still unable to logon more than 2 users at the same time.

Error: "There are too many users logged in"

Terminal Services requires additional licenses in order to support more than one connection.

have you authenticated your license server?

@albelo: shouldn't I have unlimited connections (for testing) during the grace period?

@ve3ofa: I believe I have. In the Terminal Services configuration panel > License Control, the license server is detected, I can select it and view its properties. (see screenshot (It's a localised 'Dutch' version of Windows Server)

This is a Windows 2008 SBS Server I inherited. They now want to have 3 RDP connections.
I have - despite of MS recommandations - all RDP services on this one AD server.
I want to know upfront if this RDP configuration will do or not.

In the mean time I will order some RDP CALS anyway...

Get free NFR key for Veeam Availability Suite 9.5

Veeam is happy to provide a free NFR license (1 year, 2 sockets) to all certified IT Pros. The license allows for the non-production use of Veeam Availability Suite v9.5 in your home lab, without any feature limitations. It works for both VMware and Hyper-V environments

@ve3ofa: I have something similar as your config screen (albeit without retail purchases (for now))

@piyushranusri: It's not recommended, I know, but can't there be more than 2 'direct' RDP connections to the SBS server?

Please have a look on http://www.experts-exchange.com/OS/Microsoft_Operating_Systems/Q_27312441.html

RDP on SBS 2011 runs only in administrativr mode - 2 connections available.

@piyushranusri: I see.... Will it work on SBS 2008 Premium (with the remote desktop session host role on the second 'premium' server)?

you're stuck with the SBS restrictions.. must be primary domain controller.. user limitations etc.. don't forget to stop the order on those CALS.. Wish you had mentioned SBS before..

I understand.. how you got the licensing manager to show up was a shocker.
